Overview

DriSteem Steam Cylinder Kit - XT 10" 3 Phase 3E 35/38mm Out #4.

Steam Generation

When water begins to flow in between electrodes coming into contact with those as the water begins to rise generating heat. As water levels rise more and more surface area of the electrodes is covered with water. This will result in a higher current draw. Steam will then be produced once the water has been heated to its boiling point. On initial startup when water conductivity is low, it could take 30-60 minutes for water to heat up and produce steam from the unit the cylinder is installed in.

When steam output reaches the users determined level, the fill valve will close. When water evaporates over time, the water level in the cylinder will drop. When it drops below a certain percentage of the users determined level, the valve will open to maintain water level and requested steam output.

If steam is overproduced, the steam valve will stay closed until the requested level is reached through evaporation of the water in the cylinder.

Maintenance

In normal conditions, the disposable cylinders should be replaced a minimum of once per year. They are replaced as a normal part of routine maintenance. As minerals build-up on the electrodes, the water level will automatically rise as the unit attempts to find a clean section of the electrode. Once the water level rises to near the top of the tank, the cylinder life is over or nearly over, and the cylinder must be replaced. They are not cleanable.
