Information
The XTR series is an atmospheric pressure steam generator that uses heat generated by electric current flowing between submerged electrodes to boil water and create steam. It does not have heating elements in it.
Cylinder Maintenance
In normal conditions, the disposable cylinders should be replaced a minimum of once per year. They are replaced as a normal part of routine maintenance. As minerals build-up on the electrodes, the water level will automatically rise as the unit attempts to find a clean section of the electrode. Once the water level rises to near the top of the tank, the cylinder life is over or nearly over, and the cylinder must be replaced. They are not cleanable.
